The Office of Adventist Volunteer Service (AVS) in the Inter-American Division (IAD) will be holding a special live online program to highlight the dedicated work of hundreds of volunteers who are serving and who have served around the globe during the past 30 years. The event comes in as Inter-America celebrates AVS Day on May 14, 2022.

“This year we want to celebrate the commitment of so many of our volunteers who have served since the inception of AVS in our territory in 1992, as our Division commemorates its centennial anniversary,” said Janelle Scantlebury, AVS coordinator for the church in Inter-America.

The two-hour event will feature Adventist world church and IAD leaders who will motivate and provide specialized tools to the  volunteers currently serving outside of the IAD territory and invite other members to take part in the volunteer service organization.

The AVS Day will also honor former volunteers and invite church members interested in taking part in the serving initiative opportunities around the world and especially in the 10/40 window region, explained Scantlebury. “We would love for all volunteers who have served and are serving to connect with us during the live program and share in their great experience,” she said.

The live program will also include spiritual messages, testimonials, and certificate and pinning segments. The online transmission will be carried in English, Spanish and French.
