Hundreds of Adventist women from across the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America will descend on Miami, Florida, for the church’s largest women’s ministries convention this week. The historic event will include seminars and presentations on leadership and evangelism. More than 600 women from throughout Inter-America’s 22 major church regions are expected to attend the event which begins Aug. 29 and ends Aug. 31.

“We want to equip women to continue being effective in evangelism in whichever area they serve in the church,” said Cecilia Iglesias, women’s ministries director for the church in Inter-America. “Our goal is to inspire and challenge women to bring 40,000 women into the church for 2013.”

With its theme “Let the World Know,” the convention will feature church leaders and experts on women’s ministries and evangelism from the Adventist world church and the Inter-American Division headquarters.

Adventist women will focus their attention on mission to the cities evangelism, strengthening their homes, connecting with others, networking and more during the convention, according to Iglesias.

In addition, an award ceremony recognizing outstanding women in evangelism is scheduled to take place during the convention.
