Inter-America’s top Seventh-day Adventist leaders will open its mid-year executive business meetings with a special online opening ceremony on Monday, May, 19, 2014, at 5:00pm Miami Time. The program will highlight the key leadership piece in the growth of the church throughout the territory as the 2015 Year of the Pastor initiatives and activities will be voted in the following days.

“The pastor plays an integral part in motivating and inspiring church members to fulfill the mission of the church,” says Pastor Hector Sanchez, ministerial secretary for the church in Inter-America and organizer of the online event.

The program will include the ordination of four ministers from Colombia, Dominican Republic, Haiti and Jamaica, according to Sanchez.

Pastor Sanchez explains that the four young ministers will be ordained by hand-picked retired pastors who were employed by the church in Inter-America for more than 40 years and who continue to inspire and support the church and its mission.

“This ordination ceremony will set the tone so that local fields, unions and of course the Division can carefully focus more on the significance of the called and chosen men of God for pastoral service,” adds Sanchez.

More than 150 top church administrators from Inter-America’s 22 major church regions, attached fields and headquarters office will take part in the business meetings where policies, strategies, initiatives and activities will be voted during four days through May 22.
