Seventh-day Adventist professionals from throughout Inter-America will gather at this year’s Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries (ASI) Convention at the Barcelo San Jose Palacio, in San Jose, Costa Rica, August 14-17, 2013.

The 13th annual event themed “Blessed to Serve” promises to inspire ASI members to live out their Christian passion and mission of spreading the gospel through their market ministries, according to Pastor Leon B. Wellington, vice president of the church in Inter-America and secretary of ASI-Inter-America.

Some 200 Adventist professionals will take part in seminars on professional development and business management. They will network together to strengthen projects to benefit the community further, as well as strategize to expand its regional chapters spread out throughout Inter-America.

Dr. Marston Thomas, president of ASI Inter-America, said the vision to organize new chapters in the 22 major church regions in the Inter-American Division territory continues to be in motion.

“Since our last convention in Guatemala, the IAD has seen chapters organized in the Mexico, Curacao and Panama,” said Thomas.

This year’s convention will feature an official launch of the church’s Esperanza TV in Costa Rica. There will be presentations from international professionals. as well as local speakers.

The convention’s opening program will be carried on Esperanza TV Costa Rica and streamed live over the internet on Aug. 14, 2013, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Costa Rica Time or 8:00 p.m. Miami Time.

Adventist-laymen’s Services and Industries is an organization of the Seventh-day Adventist lay people involved in professions, industry, education, and/or services and exists to challenge, nurture, and provide experience in sharing Christ in the marketplace as well as supporting the global mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
