The Seventh-day Adventist Church in northeastern Mexico has embarked on an ambitious evangelistic program like never before. “Impacto 2008 aun hay esperanza” (or Impact 2008 there is still hope) is a large scale evangelistic effort involving hundreds of church leaders, pastors and laypeople in massive outreach in Monterrey, the third largest city in Mexico.

With nearly six million inhabitants, Monterrey was the sight of tireless efforts by church workers who gave Bible studies, distributed literature, and presented health and family life programs in preparation for “Impacto 2008” on May 14-17, 2008. Organizers said the event will set the tone for a new culture and lifestyle in the modern soul-winning approach in urban areas.

Already in its second evening of evangelistic meetings with guest speaker Evangelist Mark Finley, vice president for the Adventist World Church, “Impacto 2008” has drawn over 12,000 people every night. Pastor Finley's key message focuses on the hope of having a better life in Christ.

It's the largest outreach event led by the Adventist Church in Monterrey, and will be broadcast through Adventist television networks in the coming weeks, organizers said. The production crew alone has a staff of more than 80 people involved in the two-hour program every evening.

In addition to the evangelistic series, afternoon sessions include family counseling, financial counseling, Q&A sessions, musical concerts, and more.

Impacto 2008 will feature a special program all day Saturday, May 17 and conclude in the evening.
