Seventh-day Adventist leaders welcomed Adventist World Church President Pastor Ted N.C. Wilson at the Las Americas International Airport today in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Pastor Wilson’s visit will highlight the church’s revival and reformation initiative and will mark the launch of Inter-America’s own program focused on prayer and discipleship this weekend.

“We know that you are a man of great blessings and we welcome you to our country,” said Cesario Acevedo, president of the church in the Dominican Republic representing more than 273,000 members, as he was joined by his fellow office administrators.

“It is a privilege for us to come and share with the Seventh-day Adventist Church here in the Dominican Republic,” said Pastor Wilson, who was also joined by his wife Nancy. Pastor Wilson prayed for the church leaders and the spiritual revival activities to take place during the weekend.

Pastor Wilson will later be joined by Pastor Israel Leito, president of the church in Inter-America, who has been leading church leaders on a comprehensive spiritual revival program taking off throughout the 21 major church regions of the division.

Pastor Wilson will meet with nearly 200 top church leaders of the Inter-American Division tonight and will be the keynote speaker at the Palacio de los Deportes in Santo Domingo tomorrow during a three-hour live satellite program to be broadcast through the Hope Church Channel, Esperanza TV and 3ABN Latino. The broadcast will begin at 9:30 a.m. Atlantic Time (or 8:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time).

In addition, the church’s Radio Amanecer on the island (at www.ra.do) will carry the program live as well as other radio stations across the IAD.

Communicators traveling from throughout the IAD will meet with Pastors Wilson and Leito for a special press conference on revival and reformation on Feb. 12, at 4:00 p.m. and meetings will continue with the Adventist leaders during the coming days.
