The Seventh-day Adventist Church in Inter-America will hold its annual baptismal celebration this Sabbath with a special online event from Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The live event, coined as “Lord Transform Me”, will highlight the culmination of evangelistic efforts so far this year by thousands of pastors and active church members in the country and all across the Inter-American Division (IAD) territory.

More than 8,000 are expected to crowd the Sylvio Cator Stadium in the capital city. Another four sites across the Haitian Union will hold hundreds more baptisms on the same day. Thousands more are expected to attend those events.

Thousands more throughout the church in Inter-America will also be welcoming new members into the church through baptismal ceremonies.

“What a great experience to see how this evangelism initiative has mobilized so many pastors, lay evangelists, and church members to share the gospel here in Haiti,” said Pastor Balvin Braham, assistant to the IAD president for evangelism and main organizer of the event.

Seventy pastors and evangelists have traveled from across the church in Inter-America to join efforts in Haiti, as part of 300 evangelistic campaigns going on this week, said Braham.

“Church members and new believers are showing up to these campaigns this week and you see the excitement everywhere you go,” added Braham. Braham has been ministering at the Getsemani Adventist Church and Salem Adventist Church in Port-au-Prince where hundreds pack the churches every night.

The event will allow church members to witness how families, churches, schools and communities are being transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit and the involvement of church members, explained Braham.

Pastor Ramón Canals of the Adventist world church will be the guest speaker during the three-hour event, which will be carried on national television in Haiti and online through webcast.interamerica.org in French, English and Spanish.

Top church leaders from Inter-America will also take part in the live event and lead out in the thousands of new members who will be baptized on site.
