The Dominican Adventist University held double graduation ceremonies with a record number of students completing their undergraduate and post graduate degrees last month. Some 530 graduates from 17 undergraduate and 3 graduate programs marked a historic moment in the 41-year history of the Adventist institution in Sonador, Bonao, Dominican Republic, on Nov. 27, 2016.

Senator of the Monseñor Nouel Province Felix Nova Paulino was among the top figures who congratulated the institutions for the formation of so many professionals.

“We applaud your efforts in moving forward and positively influencing the development of these communities,” said Nova. He reaffirmed his commitment to continue supporting the institutions by whatever means necessary.

The university has been expanding its programs, especially its business, education and nursing programs. In 2015, 310 students graduated, 392 in 2014, 276 in 2013, and 220 in 2012, university officials said.

“This increase in the number of students is no more than the blessings brought by the work that we do in the fulfillment of the mission of the world church at a national level,” said Feliberto Martínez, president of Dominican Adventist University.

“The growth has been possible in the efforts to form professionals with a strong sense of Christian values to serve within our membership in the Dominican Republic,” explained Martínez.

Plans are underway to expand the nursing and engineering programs, and increase research and publications in education and science programs, as well as the psychology program.

Dominican Adventist University offers 17 undergraduate degrees and three post-graduate degrees.
